Debi Hopkins serves as the Director of Religious Education at St. Martin Parish in Owensboro, Kentucky. In this role, she oversees faith-formation programs for both adults and children within the Roman Catholic tradition. Debi brings a welcoming, pastoral approach: she coordinates Sunday school, sacramental preparation, and ongoing adult faith-enrichment classes, ensuring that participants of all ages deepen their understanding of Scripture, Catholic teaching, and the life of the Church.

Her work focusses on creating opportunities for lifelong discipleship: children might explore the Mass, sacraments, and prayer in age-appropriate settings, while adults engage in small-group discussion, Scripture studies, and parish-wide retreats. Debi emphasizes the importance of moving from simply knowing faith to actively living it — helping parishioners apply Gospel values in work, family, and community.

In her role, she manages volunteers, develops curriculum aligned with diocesan standards, partners with parents as primary educators of faith, and collaborates with parish clergy and staff to make the parish a vibrant center of education and evangelization. Debi’s leadership supports a parish culture where faith is nurtured, celebrated, and shared across generations, helping all members of St. Martin’s to grow in relationship with Christ and participate meaningfully in the life of the Catholic Church.
